Varsha is an LL.M. graduate in International Trade and Investment Law from National Law University, Jodhpur. She works with the corporate litigation and alternate dispute resolution team in Chennai. She has demonstrated commendable dexterity and assiduity in the field of dispute resolution and litigation, specifically in varied matters across the renewable energy sector. In 2019, she was awarded a scholarship by Bucerius Law School, Germany for a program in international dispute resolution under Prof. Dr. Stefan Kröll.
Varsha has been earnestly involved and committed to the energy, particularly renewable energy practice throughout her career. She believes in minutely understanding the requisite specificities and technology at the heart of every renewable energy project she extends her professional expertise in. Her portfolio includes impeccable and impressive solutions relating to engineering, procurement and construction of renewable energy projects and infrastructure related turnkey contracting, drafting and negotiating descoping agreements for wind power projects post the term of operation and maintenance engagements, government advisory pertaining to development of wind power projects and protecting and licensing intellectual property rights.
Her well-rounded acumen also extends to the matters of litigation and alternate dispute resolution primarily for independent power producers and OEMs before various forums including the CERC, Hon’ble High Courts of Madras, Bombay and Delhi, TNERC, MSEFC, subordinate courts across jurisdictions and distinguished arbitral tribunals. The disputes involving power purchase agreements with the State, grant of long-term connectivity, provision of evacuation infrastructure, grant of licenses and government approvals, operation and maintenance of wind power projects and shared services, protection of intellectual property relating to technology in renewable energy, land development etc.
Her expansive experience and a solution-driven outlook in contracting for renewable energy clients and her present role in litigation and ADR empower her to provide pragmatically and cost-effective advisory to the Firm’s foreign and domestic clientele.
