Padma brings in over 10 years of experience advising clients in the technology space, from start-ups to fast-growing and mid-market business to mature global enterprises, across practice areas on corporate transactions, regulatory, compliance, employment, privacy laws, and contracting issues. She has successfully helped her clients navigate complex technology regulations through impressive critical thinking and effective drafting skills.

EXPERTISE

Padma has been associated with FoxMandal since 2006, when she started her legal career. After a  5 year stint with FoxMandal, Padma moved in-house with Infosys Limited, a 13 billion Indian multinational technology company, where she offered advice to the business teams on legal challenges for strategic business movements to various global markets.

She worked in-house and in law firms in London since 2015 with technology companies focussing on IT and internet laws, cloud computing, and ‘software-as-a-service transactions. She worked as a sole legal counsel for a London-based company in the sensory mobile marketing technology sector, handling two rounds of investment to take the company through its initial business cycle and further advising on legal matters including commercial and technology transactions, incorporating subsidiaries, conducting legal reviews of business and product development activities, employment matters including establishing employment best practices.

Padma read for an LLM in Public International law and an MPhil in privacy laws around surveillance in the United Kingdom. She had been actively involved with the university research groups and civil society organisations, contributing to research papers and articles. She currently works for the Information Technology and Start-up sectors at Fox Mandal.

As a partner at Fox Mandal’s Bengaluru office, he leads the Technology and Startup team while also overseeing the Corporate Governance and Capital Market division. Rajesh plays a significant role in augmenting the thought leadership of the firm and is regularly published in leading newspapers in the country.

Rajesh’s expertise lies in providing strategic advice on Intellectual Property, Information Technology Laws, Data privacy and E-Commerce, Investment and Securities law.

He has extensively worked with tech entities in the retail, fashion, finance and defence sectors, advising them on contractual arrangements with various stakeholders and helping them cruise through regulatory and liability issues, preparing policies relating to sourcing, designing, manufacturing, product endorsements, supply chain, warehousing, imaging, content publications cataloguing and copyrights

Over the years, he has provided a range of practical solutions on e-commerce, telecom licencing, software product licensing, software development agreements, ODCs, outsourcing contracts, data privacy & GDPR, IP patents and infringement actions, enforcement of trademark in the social media environment, trademark registrations, filing and prosecution.

He also helps clients deal with product liability issues, legal metrology and FSSAI related concerns, raising private equity and debt financing, creating corporate governance structure, SEBI settlement procedures and also takes up oppression and mismanagement matters before NCLT.

Rajesh often represents emerging start-ups and handholds them at an early stage, acting as their mentor in their legal function, many a time pro-bono.

With over 20 years of experience, Santosh leads the Firm’s IP & Sports Law practices in Southern & Western India, focusing primarily on fulfilling the business-legal requirements of clients.

Santosh is a pragmatic and proficient expert whose cognizance of IP issues and dexterity in resolving them is discernible. He advices on a range of IP services spanning acquisition, advisory, portfolio management, transactional, enforcement and dispute resolution.

He is also known to be on the ball when it comes to Sports Law. Some notable sports matters dealt with by him are assisting FICA in recovering their members’ dues from ICL-Zee Group and advising them on various contractual issues, assisting Sports Management entities in contractual issues and sports companies in planning, structuring setting up leagues, including forming policies and related documentations etc.

His IP expertise has put Media and Entertainment practice right in his wheelhouse where he has assisted clients on issues related to development, production, acquisition and distribution of contents; production and distribution of motion pictures, television and electronic media rights; music publishing; sponsorship deals and technology-related transactions.
