STAIRS Foundation Launches Initiative to Promote Sports Development at Grassroots Level

The Society for Transformation, Inclusion, and Recognition through Sports (STAIRS) has come up with an initiative called “One India One Goal” to facilitate sports development at the grassroots level in the country. The initiative was launched on April 15, 2023, and is reportedly based on three pillars, ‘Play to Play’, ‘Play to Win’, and ‘Play to Earn’. Hence, the programme covers the overall lifecycle of a sportsperson.

The Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhoumik, revealed the initiative’s logo and merchandise at the launch. The President of the STAIRS Foundation, Siddhartha Upadhyay, expressed that the initiative seeks to play a part in the country’s participation and triumph at international sports events.

The Delhi-based organization also intends to promote training academies and set up youth clubs to ensure that more and more children participate in outdoor activities and life skills training.
