Out of this number, 438 suspicious matches were identified using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Such statistics reflect a 34% increase in suspicious matches when compared to those that occurred in 2021. The highest number of such matches took place in Europe.
However, the report assures that the percentage of suspicious matches hasn’t exceeded 1% in any specific sport category and the threats to sporting integrity such as match-fixing, betting, etc. did not reach 99.5% of the sports competitions or events.
