The 2024 Summer Olympics, which is more commonly known as Paris 2024, would be the first Olympics games in the history of the Olympics movement to attain gender equality. An equal number of female and male athletes would be taking part in the games, and this milestone was achieved by and large due to the initiatives taken by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Applauding this headway, French fencer Ysaora Thibus expressed, “There’s also much to improve with everyone involved in sport, including other employees and leaders”.
Women athletes participated for the first time in the Olympics games in Paris, France, which hosted the 1900 Summer Olympics or Paris 1900. Further, the Games’ schedule has been devised to promote gender equality, and the official logo for Paris 2024 combines the gold medal, the flame and Marianne.
Being the sixth Olympic games to be hosted by France, the event is scheduled from July 26, 2024, to August 11, 2024.
