Green Hydrogen Mission: Deadline for R&D Proposals Extended

As announced by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy vide an office memorandum, the deadline for submission of R&D proposals under the National Green Hydrogen Mission has been extended from 12th to 27th April.

While the National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in January of last year, has a total outlay of Rs. 19,744 Crore, a portion of said budget amounting to Rs. 400 Crore has been allocated for the scheme till FY 2025-26.

The scheme seeks to scale up R&D efforts to “promote indigenous technology development for wide spread deployment of green hydrogen technology in an efficient and cost-effective manner across the country”. The guidelines for implementation of the R&D scheme were issued last month, which elaborate on the scheme components, implementation methodology, protection of intellectual property rights generated through research projects, etc. On the same day these guidelines were released, the Ministry came out with an office memorandum presenting the problem statements, along with proposal submission guidelines, and calling upon the eligible entities, i.e., academic institutions, R&D institutions, government institutions, PSUs, private research institutions, or industries having adequate infrastructure, to submit project proposals under the scheme.
