Disney Star gets Broadcast Rights for all ICC Events in India for Next Four Years

Disney Star has won the TV and digital rights to both men’s and women’s global cricket through 2027. In a single-round sealed bid process, Disney Star was awarded the rights to broadcast the sport in the Indian Subcontinent. Disney competed with Zee, Viacom, Star and Sony for the digital and TV rights for International Cricket Council (ICC) events.

Disney Star has further signed an agreement to license exclusive rights for ICC men’s matches to ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. for the next four years (2027). In lieu of pushing women’s cricket to newer heights and being the higher bidder, Disney Star was also reported to have the most comprehensive plans to grow women’s cricket, which won it the bid.
