Back on Track: Hima Cleared by NADA Panel

Assamese sprinter Hima Das has been cleared by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and is now free to compete.

The athlete was provisionally suspended last year for three whereabouts failures within a span of 12 months. The NADA Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel gave the go-ahead after a hearing in March.

However, on her return to competition at the Indian Grand Prix-1 in Bengaluru on April 30, Das failed to finish the 200m race, netting a DNF (did not finish). A dope test was reportedly administered after she pulled out of the race. Chelimi of Andhra Pradesh bagged the gold medal in the 200m event after clocking 23.92 seconds.
